RAPTOR 2 | Most Powerful Direct Drive Electric Skateboard | Kickstarter

Question to the diy gurus: would it be a cool ride when you put the raptor 2 hardware on something like this https://goo.gl/images/1pMbLb Or are the truck angles wrong or something like that?

I see no problem there, would be fun

Little appetizer for you. An example of my acceleration tests with the R-SPEC GHOST prototypes. It was also a tiny little bit uphill to be honest.

U hit 150 motor amps. What’s considered acceptable settings on the vescx? Maybe u could accelerate faster if u notched up the motor amps.

I could use more. But that was already more then enough. Too much if you want to use the power for riding around town. I needed 3 tries before I was able to stay on full throttle. Or I am a pussy.

Sadly it looks much less impressive in the video then it is in reality.

Would it be a lot of work to integrate tasker compatibility into your app? That way we could easily create widgets for changing modes.

lol, thought “wow, this looks super german” and then I realized youre from dortmund :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

So what’s the update on the booster pack? I was under the impression only if at least 80% of raptor 2 customers purchase this pack it would go through and otherwise be refunded. I went mountain biking in France for the weekend without internet so ended up missing out. Was hoping to purchase it today only to see the price almost double. I don’t mind paying the increase tbh, as long as it will lower that % required for it to be implemented, although in this case it is kind of unfair some paid more than others in the end.

the rubber must be black 🖒

Man, too bad about that carbon fiber moving inward a few layers. Looks so cool on the bottom.

the carbon wont be on the bottom anymore but under some wood? from looking into doing that and asking roarockit people about it (those people will talk about anything all day), the carbon needs to be on the bottom or the top or it will crack the wood that comes after it. so they say. I wanted to do carbon, wood, carbon, etc as I thought it would be easy to throw it all in a press but they said don’t bother. Maybe they’re wrong.

Yea not sure why he’d institute a price increase on a feature he needs us to buy. At best it just seems like a foolish oversight, at worst it seems like an incredibly transparent marketing gimmick.

@onloop, what do you say? This makes sense to me that the layers would split if the harder one (carbon) is sandwiched in between more pliable wood layers.

To onloop. you say you have good big bearings on the Raptor 2. I know you like to have the best. Have you lookt in to ceramic bearings? They seems to be way better. Faster, colder,Last longer and more. Is the Raptor 2 going to have ceramic bearings and if not. Why?

Cceramic bearings are much harder to install with an interference fitting especially on shafts and housing that will be changing diameter with changing temp.
Ive seen them explode with shock loads on a hub motor and just a tight slide (radial) fit with .1mm axial play https://www.extralite.com/Tips/bearings%20tips.htm The numbers above show ceramics not bear the load ability of steel also
