NKP 3-link evolution thread

Badass! Those things look rock solid.

Is it very noticeable to be pivoting from the axle height verses within the baseplate? OR closer to the deck? I would think the tilting at the axle would create a tipping over sensation due to side to side movement of the deck over the pivot. I’m curious to feel these things…

I think probably its largely just visual. Since this design is all skeletonized you can make out the movement a bit more.

Its going to be rakeless, so the tippyness feeling is probably going to by typical of a rakeless truck. The height of the deck from the roll axis may be a little bit taller ( but maybe not, can’t tell for sure ), but it won’t be more than a similarly tall RKP.

I have them set up split so the front turns more than the rear based on the base plate pick up points. They are in theory rakeless but they are much more lively than any rakeless truck I have ever ridden.

ah, yeah I didn’t even think of that Moe’s axle’s are bigger than a kingpin.

It wouldn’t be a problem or anything if I made a copy/model of these things to show off and make a video of would it?

I mean, you’re not keeping these on the down low or anything?

I am not sure if you understand what it took @MoeStooge to get here and please excuse me if I am stepping into something that I shouldn’t.

If you have 6 months or more to work on this then yes, knock your socks off. It is not an easy or intuitive design to work with at least for me. Personally I would try to convince @MoeStooge to sell you a set and when they are shown of, be sure to let them know who’s mind they came from…Mr Biggs

I’m not expecting to make anything ridable, just something that moves in the same way so that I can talk about it. Very dumbed down, oversimplified, not even with any bushings or anything.

Of course I’d share where the design came from, probably link to this thread or something.

@MoeStooge took video yesterday and I think he has some suitable footage

DH 3-link truck with 4200w single motor and allows 70mm wheels with an idler gear. Trucks are 50/45 adjustable to 40/35. Plenty of power to pull a hill. Swing away the motor and gravity bomb the hill. Just a mock up, should be testing tomorrow. ! ! IMG_20180623_130202620_HDR IMG_20180623_115306084 ! Looking good MoeBro :dark_sunglasses: Are you going to run the (your) narrower “street” wheels or are they just for mock up?

Options open. On the abrasive epoxy surface the Colorado track the harder street wheel would have performed better. We will see what wheel is better for the K-1speed kart track that will host World Cup.
