More $40-$55 Motors from Banggood (5045 200KV, 5060 280KV, 5065 200KV, 6368 280KV)

They have been working well for me on one of my builds. One little extra I added, was bearing loctite on the shaft because the grub screw is teeny.

I kind of doubt that they actually have the same sized stator as other 6374 motors

@pat.speed Right, in the picture you can see that the motor has a length ob 7 cm if you include the axle! Axle is 2.5 cm long which leaves you with only 4.5 cm for the stator.

So who volunteers to test this and get exact measurements and stats?

That picture with measurements is also bull*.

I did a quick pixel count analysis and the motor is actually right around 68-69mm and axle is 25mm, more than 9cm total.

Just because there is that much room doesn’t mean that room is going to be used

If someone knows the size of the can that can give you a pretty rough estimate. You just need to take about 1cm off the length of the can size and it’s usually pretty accurate

I belive that it’s the same motor as the one that @dickyho sells (his is with sensors).

Would be interesting to buy one. I might get one actually, just to try. But I’m going away for a while so it’ll have to wait.

Make sure to put thicker wires on it, those will burn up with anything more than a few amps

Yeah I can see that. But I wonder if the pictures really reflect the end product or not… A lot of re-sellers just steal pictures from each other.

I also want to try to get some from taobao but I don’t read nor speak chinese at all, so it’s not very easy. Like this one https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.216.66d43c41mmWNMW&id=556043607306&ns=1&abbucket=17#detail Or that one (but the wiring seems super crappy too) https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.104.66d43c41mmWNMW&id=556263695694&ns=1&abbucket=17#detail

My goal is to find the unbranded version of motors like http://alienpowersystem.com/product-category/brushless-motors/63mm/page/3/ or https://eskating.eu/product/eskating-pro-motors-6374-190kv-waterproof-sealed-and-sensored/ or https://miamielectricboards.com/shop-1/unsensored-electric-motor-6374 they’re all so similar, manufacturers must sell them unbranded somewhere.

Someone found the alien power systems motors on alibaba

you can always use superbuy to buy from taobao. They buy for you, take pictures and send then to your address. it will take aprox 2 weeks.

Those are sealed Maytech ones http://www.maytech.cn/en/product/e-skateboard/e-skateboard-motor/motor-with-hall-sensor-for-e-skateboard

You do realize that the internal wires will still be the same thickness and would also “burn up”? There is no point in changing the wires (maybe if they are ridiculously long and you are worried about losses but you can’t run higher currents just because you replaced the wires going to the motor)

What abou this? https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Roller-with-outer-rotor-Brushless-motor-5055-N5065-6354-N6364-6374-6384-8352/2837003_32835320629.html?spm=2114.12010612.0.0.62700222eO2u8Q

So the windings are the same size as the phase wires?

Obviously - you thought they get thicker inside the motor?

No, I thought they usually got small since lots of motors use 12awg phase leads I though that once inside the motor the actual windings would need to be small to fit in the stator teeth when being wound.

Thanks for letting me know this

Like @pat.speed I thought changing only the wires going out of the motor would be fine. Looking at a SK3 disassembled https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g9rcv6K5qA the coils are using thin copper but the wires going out are bigger. So basically, cutting out the wires going out of the motor up to the coils wires, and solder bigger wires should do it I think ? It’s super annoying to do though, might be better spending $20 on a motor with proper wiring.

Funny, those are the same as https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.257.2e3fef8a263m8O&id=560355109681&ns=1&abbucket=20#detail Bit more expensive on AliExpress, but at least we can easily order on the site
