Might have short circuited balance lead

I accidentally roughed my knife to on the hole on the balance lead and caused a spark and now that spot is black. Is it shot?

As long as it still makes contact with the balance plug on your charger, you’re good. Plug it into your charger if you have on that can measure resistance per cell. My SkyRc one has that function, then make sure that cell is giving you a reading similar to others

Probably…just buy a new JST pigtail and replace it they’re like $8 for a pack of 20 on ebay

Am I able to just cut the wires on the balance lead or will I short circuit everything whil cutting them?

You’ll short them if you’re cutting with metal clippers

So how do I remove them from the jst connector because I have another one.

Cut the wires one at a time, insulating the end of each wire with a bit of tape or something between each cut

So if I cut one at a time with clippers I’m good?

Yea as long as each separate wire doesn’t make contact with one of the other wires you’ll be fine

Ok thank you

There’s a tab you push on the jst pin to remove it from the connector

I tried that and it sparked

You do it one at a time…you bridged 2, don’t :yum:

Also do I have to take a picture of where each black wire goes?

Well they have to be in the same order

How do I figure out where each one goes

On the new connector?

Look at what cell there wired to by unwrapping the pack…

I don’t have new heatshrink?

How would I rewrap it?
