Now… I’m worried now just purchased A/T kit. Hope won’t eat dirt or worst while riding it.

Thanks for posting up. Exact same area I experienced the breakage. They are trying to charge me for postage. But when your product fails like this, it should be full free replacement. And plus I have lost confidence in the parts.

And yes they are cheaper parts than general market value, but I would expect an ESC or motor to fail before a structural failure like this

One of the issues I experienced with noise is the metal spacer in the wheel between the bearings. I put grease in there to help the noise on the metal spacer. Another factor for noise is the belt cover, this needs torqued down on the two belts, as this can rattle a lot.

In regards to rolling resistance, i only experienced more when I put the idler bearing in

@diyeboard hi Jason I approached yourselves through email, and you have offered a free replacement on the trucks, if I pay for postage I thank you for the offering.

But I think from a liability point of view, the trucks are suffering catastrophic failures on more than one occasion, as referenced above. To avoid negligence and to help save someone’s life, especially if the truck hangar failed at speed, I think a recall on these parts would be reccomended. It would be terrible if a product you offer caused serious injury to a young person and caused injuries for life or a death.

Regards

After being seriously injured you’re only getting a free replacement?

Yeah that’s all. Had to pay shipping too. I’m midway through the transition to a fully DIY build

I should have insisted on a new ESC when one motor channel stopped working due to overload. Just before that incident one of the connectors got a little bit loose and melted resulting in really strange behaviour of the whole thing. I made videos documenting this shit and he promised me that his techies will have a look on it but didn’t respond for some time. After a reminder I got no response at all so this is it for me now with diyeboard stuff. I like the hub motors but I’ll go for alternatives in the future. I don’t trust their ESC any more at all.

That’s awful. Good luck with the new build

Basically all from the same factory.

I removed the metal spacer (had similar problem in other builds) but didn’t help much. The gear covers (surprisingly well built) are already quite well tightened

Perhaps the biggest ‘problem’ here is not managing expectations. Cheaper products have to use cheaper materials and will never stand up to the same level of abuse as those from more expensive brands.

Meepo style esk8 = light use only

Meepo has been pretty upfront about their products from what I’ve seen, he already qualifies his trucks as light use only.

I’m 80kg rider and manage to bend pretty solid looking Caliber II trucks but that garbage here is crisp like a cookie, good for 30kg kid.

looking at where the screws for the motor hubs are located, they pretty much have a fatal design flaw in there. There is very little material left. To classify something as ‘‘light use only’’ due to design flaws, incorrect casting or wrong material choices is something should not be accepted.

Why? It’s playing with people’s lives and it will in the end result in regulations being super strict or ESK8 being banned altogether due to the initial media coverage and resulting ‘‘concern’’ to protect the population.

Damn! Are you ok? It sounds really scary! We should make a counter. How many broken trucks in the last months? I also have the same hubs, but not problem for me yet. Although I switched to more powerful hubs since 2 weeks. If you look for an alternative the GB is still on.

Good points, this is unacceptable design.

@diyeboard. I just recieved your 6" AT Truck Kit and by default the motors are oriented under the deck. I want them oriented to the back, to get more clearance under the deck. So before I take the trucks and mount apart, I wanted to know if that is possible and how hard it is to do?

I have same issue but the only cheap solution use the riser comes with the kit. I’m not sure if can rotate that motor mount or reverse the truck. IMG_20180830_154105542_HDR I have pretty good clearance using the riser

I just got one of the 7s2p removable battery units. I have ridden about 8 miles now and this crack has formed from our poorly made sidewalks. Do you think the right solution would be to glue it together with some strong epoxy? 11%20PM
