DAVEga: Battery monitor, odometer, speedometer

Sweet. I’ll remember that next time

@janpom after all that I figured out a way to fit 3 buttons on mine. But the two button option is still a good idea I think for more minimal builds. But I like the way three looks much better than two.

After I confirm it all fits then I will upload new version to thingiverse.

Looks cool! If I may have one suggestion, I would put the DAVEga inscription on the spacer rather than on the enclosure so that it’s correctly oriented.

So is this pronounced dă’-vē"-găh or is it pronounced dāv-gē"-ā’

In other words, da-ve-ga or dave-G A

I vote for Dave full stop GA and ga like you would say it in German … sounds way better :relieved:

That’s still an open problem. A bit like P=NP? … only harder.

I have been saying dave Ga but it think that sounds a bit special.

da-ve-ga sounds more classy.

If it’s still an open problem, then a quick poll should gather some information:

  • dă’-vē"-găh (Davega.)
  • dāv-gē"-ā’ (Dave.G.A.)
  • dāv"-găh’ (Dave.Ga.)

0 voters

You wouldn’t happen to be a button pusher now would you

That’s very scientific. I wonder if the same would work for P?=NP.

Haha. Nope. Got too much on my hands at the moment to be slanging buttons.

@clistpdx is local so I would’ve just skated them over.

85% of the votes for dă’-vē"-găh (Davega.) but OP @janpom voted for dāv"-găh' (Dave.Ga.)

I’m going to call it “Davega” (dă’-vē"-găh) LoLz

I like how @mmaner stylized it DaVeGa

JST 1.5mm 5 pin aliexpress. I was looking for a small connector with 5 pins. Pretty small compared to a 6s connector (7pin).

What gauge wire are you guys using to extend this back to the VESC?

I got my kit in the other day so I want to get any other supplies I need.

As far as the caps, I’m not sure I can soldering these SMD caps that came with it, I may just get some of the button style caps and try those out too.

I really like the way your mount turned out.

Come on, you can do it. I managed to do it and I only started to learn how to solder like 6 months ago.

I’ll try it! Any suggestions? Just hold it down and hope the solder flows!?

I ordered the caps I needed, I’ll try the smd’s first, only cause you have so much blind faith in me!

Here’s what worked for me:

  • Put some solder on one pad. Just enough so that it doesn’t block the cap from being inserted between the pads.
  • Place the cap between the pads and hold it in place with tweezers.
  • Reflow the solder. It should stick to the cap. One side done.
  • Do the other side. The cap should no longer move, so it’s easy.
