Extended BLDC-TOOL with Watt Control Mode, PPM Cruise Control, individual Throttle-Curve and Android App

That is a point I talked about with a friend who is web designer. But the dev of VESC monitor (Solarturtle) wasn’t so active to improve/debug its app so we were afraid to work for nothing. But I’ll check with him how difficult is to build a database and the website.

@gaetjen can You try The following? Maybe it is only a Bug for me and is working for you

First time i got asked for a Name of the Bluetooth Chip. I just called it test for testing purpose  Now i want to rename my chip but it does Not work… When i have changed The Name and leave The text Input it does Not save the New Name…even after if i have uninstalled The App, deleted The folder on my Smartphone and installed it again The Name of the Bluetooth Module stays The same “test”…

Yeah, I can’t change the name of the board as well. But I haven’t deleted the app yet, because I don’t want to set up everything again

I did not want you to uninstall it  i am sorry if you had The impression to!

@Ackmaniac Okay then it is a Bug. Would be nice if you could fix it

Here are my other driving modes and I have to say they work very good. Kid modes goes up to 6kmh, beginner mode up to 25 and medium up to 35 kmh.

I can do that webpage if you want. Send me a PM with what you’d like the page to do!

Some sort of statistics of many different runs and something like oneboxing

Yes it is a bug and will be fixed with the next version. I am working on a bigger change at the moment so you have to wait a little.

Nice to hear. Can you tell us what the next update will unlock?

I like the idea that you setup default values and change the modes on the fly. By far the best app i think. I am only missing a “onebox” feature

Very nice video. But let me give you a view tips. You are overstressing your batterys a bit. Because you have a 10S3P battery (i guess samsung R25 cells) and set your battery max limit to 50A each VESC. but the battery is only rated to 20A continuous. For a 3P setup that means 60A. That means you allow a total max amp draw of 100 Amps for the Battery. You can do that but it is a bit much. And what is the value for your your Voltage Cutoff start and end. Because i think it is a bit too high (reduces power too early). So i recommend to set the cutoff start to 30A and cutoff end to 28A. And then the best would be to set your battery max to 30A for each VESC or if you want a bit more power to 40A.

Just to give a little update. I am working currently on new Features which will be available soon.

- Full Nunchuk support So you can connect the Bluetooth module to the slave VESC when you have a dual drive and still change ride modes and the settings.

- Power output limit visualization That should mean if the VESCs output power is limited by the low voltage or the VESCs Temperature you will be able to see it in the app and in the Videos.

- Throttle curve adjustments are possible via the app Each drive mode can have it’s own throttle curve.

- BLDC-Tool with have help tooltip text for the most parameters

- Visualization of average motor and battery amp draw and average Temperature And this even in total and in ride time. Total = it counts it also when the board is not moving. Useful when you want get a feeling how the amps raise the Battery’s temperature. ride time = it only counts when the board is moving. Useful to know how much amps you draw in average when you are riding.

And i fix the bug with the speed limit in the firmware. So also a new Firmware file will be necessary.

My cutoffvoltage starts at 32V and ends at 28V, but I have a 60A BMS that cuts voltage at 30V. I have LG2 cells, so 60A is correct. Thanks for the tips with the battery max, I’ll try it with 30A then (I have a Vedder-switch as well with a 40A fuse). What about my Max Watt? Should I leave it at 1700 watt?

He has set his battery max to 50A. How is it possible that he is exceeding that limit? Over 90A was his peak draw :open_mouth:

How does he even get 90A on one VESC by running dual? → Total draw = 180A ? Do you multiply the battery draw by two when the user is running dual?

I think you mean voltage

Just a minor bug fix: if you choose between different mode setups you cannot read the complete ERPM value because the last digit gets cut.

PS: The new features are nice. Keep up the good work

When you set the value to 30A then you should set the max watts to 1080 (3,6V * 10S * 30A = 1080 watts). if you set it to 40A (at your own risk) then 1440 (3,6V * 10S * 40A = 1440 watts).

@DeathCookies Yes, when you have 2 VESCs then the value gets doubled to show the summarized amp draw and watts on the entire system.

Hi, I really appreciate your work although I havent tried your software yet. Do you think you will be able to add a feature that can help the rider in case of wireless controller failure? For example a feature that will gradually slow down the board, instead of an abrupt power cutoff (in case of complete signal loss).

Can you please make a screenshot of that. By the way in the new version you don’t have to deal with the ERPM anymore. You set your tire and pulley size and the motor poles and then you can adjust the speed instead of the erpm.

Here you get it

Looks like you have a very small screen and the values don’t fit. looks different on mine. That is the problem with Android devices. There are so many different devices and screen sizes. But i changed it already on the new Version. Hopefully it will work then.

I have a OnePlusOne 5,5". I do not think that it is small
