VESC Monitor Android App

It’s just the video overlay I cannot do like you have it on your app. There are other apps but don’t show the info as nice as yours does. CHeers, good luck.

They only advertise their product with my app. But i was never involved in that. And 64€ for a BLE module, wow. You can get the ones for my app for less than 3 dollars from china.

My thought actually was that vast majority of the money goes to the app developers as it should support all the apps etc… So I thought I am giving most of the money to you, Benjamin and the guy that makes METR etc… I guess stupid to think…

But the attitude is nice, so thanks anyway.

Hi, I plug the bluetooth module in the unity and set to 9600 the baud rate. I was using the bluetooth before with anothe rvesc, but I do not see live data. There is something more to do compare to previously? Thanks!

Do you have telemetry turned on in the Unity?

If that were only the case. I love the way you think though. It’s how it should be.

Well I turned on UART and set baud rate to 9600.is there something more to do?

Are you using the latest version of the phone app? What symptoms are you seeing?

App version V1.121. I see the bluetooth. I can connect to it through the app but I don’t get any real data.

Money from sold Metr Pro modules goes to me and @hexakopter. Expensive or not, this is of course very individual and everyone will have different opinions.

When we released Metr Pro, it was working with VESC Monitor. You can find a post somewhere and APK / version number that works. Some time later it stopped working. I guess there is some problem somewhere, with so many different modules this app supports it is hard to come up with the code that works for all of them. We are obviously willing to help. We can send a Metr Pro for free. We can also help fund the investigation, maybe something else, I don’t know. We beleive there are enough people on this forum that can benefit having both Metr Pro and VESC Monitor working together and we want those people to be happy :v:

That’s a great talking. You module and app are really nice and people know it, don’t worry  To be honest I only used VESC monitor app so far. It’s just now that I can not get it working with the unity but I will figure it out why.

So got the module connected to an unity to work. Or well it works 1 time out of 4 and not sure eit is fast enough to get the real time data as before. For sure there is some conparibility problem. vescmonitor Plus most of the time I get the temperature with a red highlighted bar.

It seems the app detects KV alright, because max speed to 60k ERPM is as expected.

But when setting 1 to 1 gearing, 110mm wheels and 75KV motors, it says I should be reaching 90-110mph, when it’s only realistically 30 at full throttle… Does the speed calculation take into account motor KV? Am I missing a setting I need to change to get accurate speed readings?

max speed in the mode box only says which speed can be achieved with the max erpm setting. And when you disable max erpm it will set it automatically to 200000 erpm which results in that high speed.

I should only be able to reach 33 mph on my setup according to other calculators.

Are you sure motor magnets and wheels diameter is set correctly?

Magnets probably not.

I don’t want to disassemble to see, maybe I’ll just lower the number until the speed makes sense to get it right

As i said it is a theoretical software limit which shouldn’t be reached. Just ignore it, it doesn’t matter.

Well you can ride and adjust the motor magnets to match the GPS speed. Which motors do yuu have?
