I remember a very long time ago I had that same issue. I don’t have it anymore because I needed to set the failsafe. I really can’t remember the process though as it was soooooo long ago.
its not a failsafe issue, the gt2b ignores the failsafe at 30 seconds after power on IF the controller isnt connected. It moves the timing to stock 1500ms. So if you failsafe isnt near 1500ms bye bye boardy. At least thats what mine does.
Yeah. I’ve actually been testing a couple different modules lately. I think this one isn’t very good because that doesn’t happen on the others. Going to switch back to my old trusty tonight or tomorrow.
Just decided to modify the refresh rate because it was too fast in the videos. Was hard to read the data when it changes with every frame. So it set it down to 6 realtime data updates a second.
New version is 1.77. @SeanHacker Maybe it also results in a more reliable connection for you.

I didn’t mean that mine clone works with oreo. It works in general. I don’t have Oreo to test it. I would say that the options are update the firmware on the module as you said (actually new clone firmware should be oreo compatible) or by real hm-10 module (HM-10 Transparent Serial Port Bluetooth 4.0 Modules Bluetooth Serial Port With Logic Level Transformation http://s.aliexpress.com/FJBJJ3qI?fromSns=Copy to Clipboard). The lates is the only one I found it identical to the description in the blog before mentioned. Still not sure you get exactly this one. You can ask them as picture before shipping. Otherwise buy it through other channels for more.

I didn’t using during ride yet. But by just check it on bench the value are ok. As I said I didn’t have the chance to try it on road yet. I am painting!
Which firmware version do you use? And it would be easier to analyse if you can make a video with the app.
Edit: Found the bug, i guess you use 2.18 or 2.54. Relased a new Version 1.79 which should fix that problem. Thanks for the info.

had the same weird info. i double checked if some wire was a little loose on the vesc. but it was ok. i made a video showing what is going on. if you need some extra information i´ll be glad to help. ps: later i can open the bldc in my computer and double check the terminal…

Now i finally found the nasty bug. Found and fixed also another issue that could result in connection losses. So please give it another try. @SeanHacker Would be great if you can test this version as well with the Module from your previous video. Maybe it works now without interruptions.

update to 1.80 and tested. here are things that i could noticed…
1)Default box isn´t showing my board´s info.
2)Motor Current is showing more than my max motor amp is set in the vesc (motor and battery is set to 45A)
3)The “POWER” is showing is a a little bit higher than i used to have. (until 1.75 i was getting 1100 watts) but now i am having something like 1700 watts.
- the header’s boxes was painted with green / red according speed up / speed down. now only duty has color in the header

Just released a new version 1.81 to improve stability.
I have 2 different brands of modules and one is working totally reliable and the other one is more sensitive and can loose the connection which seems to result in a a software exeption on the module iself. After a power cycle it works fine again. So i tried to improve the stability by forcing a break for a couple of ms after each message. Seems to make it better but not perfect yet.
@xBRAZILx If you have a dual drive and told the app that you have 2 motors then the motor, battery, power and average consumption values will be doubled. So when you set 80A max then you could reach 160A.
