On a scale of 1-10 How dumb would it be to Put solder in the gaps?
solder doesnât stick to aluminum
You could weld the gaps, but the high heat would effect the aluminium, possibly making it more brittle.
Good Too know,
I was about to google that,
What about Filling it up will Like adhesive cement, The type you use to plaster a hole in a wall,
dude why do you want to do thatâŚ
it holds just fine without it
Wouldnât give you any strength benefits really, and more than likely crumble away.
Um⌠I have different trucks,
The Trucks i have can be filed down where it is needed
then donât buy this mountâŚ
Already have it,
And Iâm just waiting for 90m wheels and pulley kit to find out where to file,
And if some gaps are to big i want to fill them,
And I understand the Risk of it breaking,
that was a stupid decision.
what trucks do you have?
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sector+9+faultline
This Longboard 10" trucks
your gonna have a lot of filing to doâŚ
Yeah and If my calculations say its bad i have this
I understand High speed may cause Wobbles.
Thanks for taking a look I will most likely have a lot of filing Work,
If you really have the need to fill the gaps, you could try to use Durafix Easyweld. I never used it for motor mounts but it worked good for some other projects.
Youâll have 4 different places you can potentially file down. If you mess up one side you can switch to the other. Then onto the other truck if necessary. Just file it down and take your time, aluminium is quite soft, youâll get there.
Thanks, I will not rush
It might be worth trying to copy the angles HobbyKing have on their trucks. Eg. The flat sides run parallel to the pivot point
Great Idea Thanks!
And for gaps @Nowind used sugru? But think thatâs maybe for ascetics
You could use a torch and an alloy rod
