Cumulus Nimbus 4wd 12s8p evo street build

Okay got some stuff in today

20180616_165130

30 feet of pure nickel strip, I also put a small piece in a hydrogen peroxide/vinegar solution and this is what it looked like after an hour. 20180616_164918

I also got another set of old enertion stock of 36t gears so I can run my awd set up on 107s if I feel like it. 20180616_165138

Also my fish paper came in 20180616_165441

And I got some parallel connectors and some reciever connectors. 20180616_165144

And Iā€™m not going to use antispark switch since they are unreliable with high powered set ups so I got this loop key from @torqueboards not sure if Iā€™ll use it but itā€™s an option. 20180616_165154

Iā€™m still waiting on the Boss Spot welder, the lipo, charger and my 4th focbox are all coming in on Monday.

So I go to set up my focboxes and one failed during motor detection I opened her up and I dont see any signs of physical damage but I saw it had the plastic film on the thermal pad :frowning:

This was the only one with the film on it but I purchased this focbox second hand do you think enertion will help?

Itā€™s my bad luck manā€¦ Iā€™m sorry brohan :frowning:

My 4th Focbox came inā€¦ wtf these are tiny bullet connectors and an xt60 connector? I guess xt60 would be enough since a focbox cant handle 60amps current anyway lol

Also my spot welder came in  20180618_190900

There is no fan connector on my spot welder should I just solder the fan wires to the board?

So Iā€™m having trouble running my set up in sensored mode, I had the same issue before with my old vesc x but me thinking hey I have new focboxs and new motors so it should work right? Nope same problem it passes motor detection fine but when I try to accelerate it just cogs and dosnt move. Iā€™m using the TB sensor wire so Iā€™m thinking the sensor wire from TB is not wired correctly for the focbox? Itā€™s the only thing that has stayed the same in the set up. I have to run sensorless for my board to work properly. Anyone know whatā€™s going on.

You can change the duty cycle and how many amps it uses to detect right? Just play around with those values a little bit until it works.

Iā€™ll try that after tonightā€™s group ride I need my board to work tonight haha.

Running 2wd for now

Ran the board 2wd on the 60t pullies and I warble to briefly achieve 36.5mph with a nice tuck. Screenshot_20180622-164146_Strava

Also here I am comparing the 60t pullies to the 42t theres a huge difference. 20180622_164050

@psychotiller how fast has any of your customers been on the 6 shooters? With 4wd and 42t pulley my top speed would be around 50mph can these tires handle those speeds?

I hit 30 mph regularly. Ive been up to 36ā€™ish before. They felt fine to me.

30mph itā€™s been fine my board just as stable as 107s

The 6 shoots have a nice snappy feel to them when carving Iā€™m assuming itā€™s the tires flexing under hard carving but it feels nice.

My awd has just about cleared a 40mph mark a couple of times. @caustin gave it a pretty good test the other night!

We have a street luge we are setting up to test speeds on the six shooters. Canā€™t give more detail than that but weā€™re aiming for 70mph.

There is little question that the six shooters are good to go over 40mph minimum. Also clear that @psychotiller awd is most terrifying on the way up to 40mph (beast torque) than cruising over 40mph once attained. Also clear is the street luge and his secret sauce will be a rocket to watch(out for).

Anyway, that reminds me I wanted to pull back out my sixshooters and try them on carvons. I have the TD adaptor but will that also work on the SD and XL? Canā€™t rememvwr which was ABEC vs clone vs OK to try anyway haha

huh, i didnā€™t know you could spot weld prismatic pouch cells

I think heā€™s using the lipo as the power source for a spot welder to weld li-ion cells.

Oh, of course. Duh.
