Why does nobody use motorbike bullet connectors?

I love crimping my own perfect length balance leads :yum:

check these high amp antisparks, I’m getting some of these to go with. Think they are US made so you might be able to find a deal? https://www.hyperionaustralia.com.au/store/Anti_Spark_conectors/Jeti_Anti_spark

I’m thinking I might try to crimp (the splice of) the backbone of my new loom (6awg).

my biggest hate with lipos! always uneven :rage:

A crimper like that does work but again, pales in comparison to the real thing. I wish I could post pictures of my work. You’d be able to see how fast, easy and perfect every single crimp comes out.

I have this tool:

How do you make links look like that??

Lol most links work…digikey doesn’t

Yeah my crimper doesn’t even compare to that, but it’s definitely worth the $23

Another reason crimping is used in industry rather than soldering is that, once the investment in equipment is made, they’re cheaper and faster to do. No consumables other than the crimp connectors themselves.

Looks like we got all the connector nuts in one place  More links.

I don’t think Amass are the ultimate in quality, but at least they have specs, and quality seems reliable.

And a place that seems to carry most of them (I’ve placed and received an order from them. the 6.5mm stubby bullets are NICE. 8mm stubby is nice but HUGE)

Pretty good write-up on things like balance connectors

And I think they carry high quality if not genuine JST brand parts. Better than the randoms on amazon and ebay at least.

And I like the Engineer crimpers over the ratcheting type for these tiny things.

Wish Amass made a larger version of their MT60 or MR30 3-way connectors for BLDC motors.

Oh I should put this here. I REALLY like these strippers for balance lead size wires.

Amazingly it’s much cheaper (and still convenient) to buy many German tools from from amazon.de. If the item qualifies for shipping to US and is sold by Amazon, VAT is subtracted.

Well the housing could be printed…

I used this hydrolic crimp tool for my motorhome LiFeY battery I build. using 50mm2 cables. 16t press power did awesome connections.

Boom put some solder on a crimp lol

Like this?

dies for 16-300mm2 (16t), anything to look out for? the one I posted is a baby, 4-70mm (10t) in awg it covers ~10awg and larger…

I’m thinking I just test a few connections against this table on the link supplied by double D

if they hold they are good…

Thats my box! Those are solid connections - afterwards the crimp looks like solid.

But how do we crimp XT60? What am I missing?

Here you see those 50mm2 crimps on my 400Ah 12v Battery. It was 2012 already.

Noooo. Don’t do this!

I will add my input, crimp connections are known to be superior solder joints as solder becomes a weak point under high current situations.

Idk never use them since I usually just solder wires or just use new cables for my engines because theres tons of electronis on them (mercury)
