What deck is best for building your own electric skateboard?

This deck has been amazing for the past year or so. http://www.tactics.com/sector-9/fault-line-395-platinum-longboard-deck

Hi,

I need some help with choosing the right deck. Currently I have this combination od trucks and motor mounts. I am aware that i will have to go on bigger wheels (8’’). (hope @Idea is going to be ok with using his picture).

My question is : which deck should I buy to be compatible with these trucks and motor mounts.

these are MBS ATS Mountainboard trucks, so they are used on MBS decks. Don´t know if they would fit other decks

If you use those trucks on any standard longboard decks you will need special risers. Im fighting this battle right now :).

@TarzanHBK okay, i will check MBS decks

@mmaner Can you send me PM about your progress so or do you keep your work logged somewhere on this forum?

There’s nothing to show yet, still working on the design. Then Ill either cut it out of an ABS block or weld the aluminum plates together.

When I get the design completed Ill post it.

In that case I will keep an eye on your work

What are your opinions on this deck? https://www.sector9.com/tempest-deck-assorted.aspx On the website t says only for use with gullwing trucks, but is this just to get you to buy their trucks, and will caliber 2s work?

Should be fine…usually they market board because they found it rides best with ( whatever mark inserted here) if there are clearance issues you can always add risers or sand down areas of the board with rubbing. It is a drop through so less material if you go caliber II’s.

Cool, thanks!

Hello guys. Do you advice any online European store for bamboo or carbon longboard decks at a good price :+1:. I only bought from Skatehut.co.uk

Do you advice/avoid any brand?

There are a lot of dope brands, depends on what you are looking for (e.g flex, drop/top).

I like Rayne, Landy, Never Summer. It’s really a lot of personal preference.

I want some flex to absorve the bumps of the road and also something durable. What do you think about these boards?: https://www.sickboards.nl/br/all-deck-only-s/1503-fullbag-tm-37-deck-only.html https://www.sickboards.nl/br/all-deck-only-s/5430-never-summer-soldier-tm-deck-only.html https://www.sickboards.nl/br/all-deck-only-s/5595-bedeux-die-kleintjie-deck-only.html https://www.sickboards.nl/br/all-deck-only-s/5585-sayshun-formula.html

I want to use for a Landwheel V5 with wheels 92*58mm

All of them are nice, but I dont think they will flex much, all of them are DH decks…

So they are bad for cruising and some hill climbing?. Do you suggest anyone?

If you choose stiff deck, it will be more stable in speed, they aare usually made out of maple…If you choose flexible deck, it wont be as stable as DH, but it will absorb much more vibrations…

From the flexible deck Vanguard is the most used on this forum…DH deck will be as good for cruising and DH as flexy deck, but you will feel more vibrations coming from the ground…everything is mentioned in the first post of the thread…

In case of choosing a flexible deck I will go to the Loaded Flex 1 of any type but in case I opt for a DH deck, do you advice any of the 4 I posted before from sickboards.nl or they are low quality decks to trust? Cheers :+1:
