cool, thanks for your help BTW! One last thing; is there any risk of the shrink being wrapped too tightly to the VESC? It is quite tight around some of the components, tighter than the original shrink I removed, is that ok?
Not exactly something I can give you a concrete answer on because I’ve never handled that vesc.
If those are caps, which I think they are - just make sure you’re not applying a lot of pressure perpendicular to their pcb leads and you should be good. If you are, maybe shim a little piece of foam or something under them. If the corner of the pcb starts to poke thru the shrink, slap some gorilla tape on it.
