Please do. I know there’s another post about it by @TinnieSinker. Would be welcome to see more around

image @Battosaii There is a gap between the cells. Be carefull with it, because the silicon can be compressed and it can put tension in your nickel strips. It should not cause any problems if the groups cannot be compressed.

Thank you, it will be fixed before welding. Building an 8p set up sure does take along time lol

@Tamor what are the wheels in this pic? https://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/no-words-just-pictures-delete-words-use-pm/2992/7212

Reminds me of old hotrod rims.

I designed them and had them machined in 7075 T6 Al. Had Titanium studs made, and fitted them with Ti Nylocs too. I had to get a few sets made to keep the price down. I’ve got a few left if interested. Let me know if you would like more photos.

@Tamor, looks great. Was that pulley milled with one half of the hub? So it’s not changeable?

I came up with these wheels for myself, to fit my Evolve CGT, I’ve yet to attempt a self-build, but love checking out what everyone else is up to, and one day I’ll probably have a crack.

I set myself the challenge of coming up with the best wheels possible, (and in a slightly bourgeois sense) money being no object, I didn’t want to compromise on anything.

To just do 1 set was a ridiculous price so I got a handful of each colour done, that way I could choose a few sets and release the rest to other like-minded Riders.

The wheels are CNC machined from 7075 T6 aluminium billet, (removing 78% of the stock in the process) media blasted and anodised. The Studs are Grade 2 Titanium along with the Nylocs being in the same material. The counterweights, (for the Valve) are 304 Grade Stainless Steel, and the bearings are Bones.

I’ve had the wheels sitting about since January, and thought I better do something about letting others enjoy them too.

Price wise I’d like to see my money back and cover the cost of the two sets I’m keeping, but they weren’t cheap to make, and numbers are limited. I doubt anyone will ever offer such a product again, as there was never any kind of financial justification to produce them, (I just wanted to).

So what will 8 pieces of highly machined aerospace alloy and titanium cost, AUD420 + Registered Postage, (and believe me this is cost + 2 sets)

Assembly is required, though all parts are included except the Loctite Bearing Retaining Compound.

Hi Grozniy, Yup to give maximum rigidity the sprocket is machined into the rear wheel half.

Thanks for the kind comment Riako, proud of them, and enjoy riding them.

Hi Skunk, very reminiscent of the ‘hodrod’ look. Slapped ‘High-Rollers’ on them to juxtapose the ‘Low-Rider’ vibe, + you Roll High on these Babies.

8 pieces you mean 8 halves of hubs, so 4 complete hubs for 420aud+ etc?

Sorry Grozniy, 4 wheels, (8 halves).DSC_0701 DSC_0803 …And Hardware

They look amazing.
Would be cool to have a set in Chrome.

Thanks Skunk, I didn’t think of that, how about Black Chrome.
