Now you only need to build a robot arm which can disconnect the charger automatically… :joy: Any plans on releasing the source code? I would really be interested how it works… Ok sorry…

Maybe we should make a DIY Inboard battery mount and just use their $99 batteries LoLz

The current state of the code is a bit of a mess, but if you’d like to take a look, here it is: https://gist.github.com/janpom/9bd20d4c0887847d628b18a05e2fd7eb

Not a bad price for certain kind of rides.

I’m wondering what board they are working on. I think a larger battery cutout with the same plug would be awesome. Backwards compatible with the 97wh battery from M1 for travel and larger battery for those that don’t travel

That will be my v2. I should still be able to control the charge circuit MOSFET remotely, which is close enough.

If we could get this but with 6 larger pins and 12 smaller pins it would be perfect for enclosures on a dual setup

I wouldn’t mind the few extra smaller for wires for lights but agreed. One mega connector to rule them all!

If the larger pins can handle a heap of amps and if the whole connector was IP68 then it could be used as a standard across all of esk8

Oh yeah. The waterproof is key here.

I really want to get these hubs in my hands

After playing a lot with them on ebikes.ca simulator I can say they definitely did something right with the design

I’d prefer real longboard wheels myself

*really want to get these in my hands for a really lightweight stealth builds in the works while keeping my main board with thiiiick wheels for most situations

Yup! It was close. Started on a group ride, 2 minutes later power stopped. Kicked back to my car, opened it up and found one or two of the bullet connectors that had been heat shrinked but nothing else had worked their way loose a bit. I honestly don’t know how the XT-90 adapter melted, but I’m guessing the positive and negative bullets that connect everything contacted/shorted just enough to heat the wires, melting the connections out of the XT-90 adapter until coming loose completely, breaking the short.

Got lucky it seems. I’ve since used some heavy duty electrical tape around everything in the battery enclosure that could have the potential to work loose and everything is back in working order.

I’ve got a couple of a few styles on order. I like the idea of individual motor ports personally.

There are things you can do to seal them further, but IP67 is pretty solid for this application even

I got no idea what’s going on but this reminds me too much of those dads that take their kids to a heavy metal concert and be like “I’m the coolest dad ever! Wish my dad would had done the same” while the kids are screaming for help inside if themselves :joy:
