This is the only design that got me interested. Simple, black and gold with esk8 squad. This is awesome. Thank you. Don’t need the balance leads on this. Didn’t even consider the other ones.

@Sender My Hybrid build caught on fire. it was a balance connector on one of the batteries. One of them wouldn’t charge yesterday. So I ordered a new battery to take it’s place. I felt it getting warm, that was when I should have taken it out. I didn’t take heed. Actually the board was inside. I had a fire extinguisher. I was over looking it while eating lunch, and it exploded right in front of me. It was like it came alive. It shot flames like a breathing dragon. scared the shit out of me. I’m glad I was there. The only thing that got damaged was the batteries and the board. Everything else survived

While it was charging presumably? Do you have any pictures of where you thinknit happened, like during your build process?

No, not while charging. It was unplugged and no anti-spark plug. One of the batteries went bad. And wouldn’t charge.

YES! Me too. I am thinking of a fixed hinge (on two sides of enclosure, with no hinge-action) with a “rip-cord” attached to the deadbolt(s) so if necessary the pack can be jettisoned to save the board. great minds dot dot dot…

After soldering the wires onto the pins, I applied a small amount of silicone in between the two inner black plastic bits that hold the connector in place and then used heatshrink with a glue lining instead of the outer plastic part. Should hopefully make it pretty watertight.
