I’m sorry but I can’t believe that you have ruined the battery so badly. How could you think that having the 4th set of spot welds orientated the wrong way could possibly work. That battery is now unsafe and a hazard to itself. Please dispose of it immediately.

Ps. if you need quick disposal feel free to ship it to me I can do it for you

@Riako What’s going on there? https://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/no-words-just-pictures-delete-words-use-pm/2992/8784?u=andy87 That’s huge hub motors? Where you got them from and what you modifying there? Are those trampa gummy style wheels?

That star wars grip tape is the beez kneez.

Looks awesome. Was that little meepo able to hold its own on the ride?

EDIT: @marsrover001

EDIT2: I ask because I want to get a tiny little cheap board for traveling.

Are you sure they are hub motors, they seem to have bearings on the inner part of the stator. Usually in DD’s it hubs the stator is stationary while the rotor/can spins being held by a bearing either side of the stator.

This reminds me of a sk3 motor with the under bearing for the fan

I‘m not sure at all. That’s why I asked.

Yes Andy  it is ! I try to make my own diy hub motor, since I have tested the Maytech hub last year on my SWE board, and then Gummies are release, it seemed to me obvious :bulb: I have to put a big motor in a gummies wheel !!.. Just to make it and test it !

  • Maytech 9055 hub motor doesn’t get enough urethane at all > Gummies should be better than that …

  • the little motor 80kV 800w at 10s eat up too much too fast ! (even with 25amps motor max and batt max) > a big 8072 65kV should help a bit here too. (Under 12s at double, triple, even quadruple times more Amps batt and motor Max, it should be much more fun! )

the 3d prototype looks ok but now I have to make the parts of the motor (the flanges and the over-bell). (all this pic are old now from last year now, with the blue carpet)

I always want to make an custom hub motor since our Mr Gold Finger (Gravier) on esk8fr make his own 4 years ago now ! >>> Its gorgeous :

Well that just means if they are hub motors that the outer part of the bearing would support the can and spin and the inner would stay statortionary.

yes it is @sayekim sorry @pat.speed I had trouble understanding and translating :relaxed:

Looks amazing!

It survived, lasted longer than both the boosted boards. Every time that dude rides with us it’s a surprise how long it keeps going.

I’ve thought about putting something like that on my drop deck. Looks comfortable

Haven’t skated it yet. Heel stop makes sense. I Think I will like it.

I can’t wait to need something like this!

But there is a bearing in the stator, that’s what made me think it wasn’t a hub motor.

@Riako all good. They look super cool can’t wait to see the build thread :slightly_smiling_face:

Well of course I completely missed that. My bad.

Thank you for pointing it out.
