Carvon Discussion

Bahaha Great question! will you be putting an LCD on yours?

Here’s my EXO Pro test board:

The motors still have old/short urethane covers that don’t cover it all the way. The ones shipping will have the new urethane covers.

Doing the EVO Falcon 2WD right now, the enclosure is a bit more tricky to install. But will definitely have it Saturday.

Looking good. Question. Do you think its possible to mount an exo pro onto a Falcon deck? I know the enclosure will have to change obviously but is that possible?

Did you change the esc->battery connector to xt60?

If you change the enclosure, yeah definitely.

The new battery pack has an xt60 connector. I made an xt60-to-ESC-connector adapter to connect it to ESC.

@LEVer im sure everyone has been hounding you about this but if you had to guess, when do you think the EVO4WD Kickstarter boards will be shipping?

that is just gorgeous!!! How does the exo pro handle water? I live in Paris and it rains quite often.

I live in Paris as well Please Don’t use your board when it rains, especially with Carvon’s. The bearings will wear out really quick. And it’s dangerous as hell, you lose almost all the grip on the road with urethane wheels. Acceleration and braking is sketchy AF. Anyway I’ll be glad to try your board if you come to the shredding session with OKP !

I would advise against deliberately riding in wet conditions on any board. Even if it’s a something that should be covered by warranty, and especially if it’s your only board, factoring in the downtime. It’s also particularly hard on things like bearings.

I could take a couple of pics to show you the problem IMG_20180816_104106 IMG_20180816_104110 IMG_20180816_104113

We have contacted the 4WD Early Bird backers. Batteries are being built, decks are arriving tomorrow, more drives are being machined. They will start shipping out next week.

We are confident about the sealing ability of the EXO Pro. The ESC and enclosure is surrounded by gaskets to prevent water from going in. The V4 TorqueDrive is also fully enclosed:

But continued water-protection should be actively done by the rider. Gaskets can shrink, sealers can melt, wires can get damaged, bearings dry up, etc. So immediate cleaning/drying should be done right after riding on wet roads and a monthly maintenance should be followed. It’s a lot of work for the rider. We also strongly discourage purposely riding on wet conditions as explained by other posters.

Okay, but does it slip out when the wheels are installed and axle nuts tightened?

Awesome to see the progress being made on the EXO Pro. It seems the wait is going to be worth it as the board looks to be much better than originally anticipated.

Are you already set on the charging port?

The charge port is same as it’s on the ESC. You guys may want to get a faster one because it will come with original 1.5A charger. And since the pack is bigger, it takes even longer time to fully charge. We will source a 4A charger and offer it for an upgrade.

Exactly why I asked. I have a 3a lying around here, but the port will most likely be different.

You can buy charger ports here:

Or you can cut up the 1.5A charger connector and use that for your charger.

Thanks! Im in the $1699 group so I didnt expect 1 of the first ones out the door. Super pumped. cheers!

Yup I have tried to put nuts and wheel and tightening as much as I could so it would bring back everything in normal postition. It wouldn’t do anything. What do you think ?
