Just floating by a cell?

Yes, just next to a cell.

Wait, is that screwed to the heatsink? If so, leave it there. I canā€™t tell from that angle.

Yeah itā€™s screwed into the heatsink, same wire base as the e switch

On a single motor esk8 should I rotate the ā€œmotorā€ wheel to even out wear and tear?

Then leave it on there LoLz

If the rubber/urethane gets visibly more worn down then swap it with your best wheel to get the most grip

Fair enough, guess it stays

Looking for some explanationā€¦

I had a motor crap out on me, so I am on a single motor for now. Iā€™ve limited my (now) single focbox to 60A battery and 80A motor.

I used to draw 78 battery amps on dual with 40/40+80/80 batt/motor. Now I draw 46 battery amps on single.

Iā€™ve only tested it around the parking lot and plan to test more tonight to see if 60 battery amps is hit at some pointā€¦

But, why do I not hit 60 battery amps when riding single? Iā€™m assuming it could be the XT60 connector, maybe something with the motor, or maybe something to do with how vescs workā€¦ Just curious if anyone has an easy explanation why I might not be seeing full amp draw at full throttle on single drive vs dual.

Edit: wattage limit. Nevermind

I just made a list for building this >> https://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/3d-printed-boosted-board-killer/88803/123

  1. Are there any good alternatives for the following parts? I like to save some money if the alternative parts donā€™t affect the performance a lot.

  2. I need 2X 12mm belt. What length do I need?

I charged a 10s2p and left it on the charger for about an hour after ā€œfully chargedā€ to ensure balancing was being done. Was only reaching 4.18

I disconnected the balance terminals and tested the p cells:

  1. 4.22
  2. 4.22
  3. 4.18
  4. 4.16
  5. 4.16
  6. 4.17
  7. 4.19
  8. 4.19
  9. 4.19
  10. 4.17

After a few hours the cell will balance down to a nominal voltage of 40.8

Any clues what is happening here? Just a shitty BMS? Maybe cells 1 and 2 are under capacity from the rest of the cells? Is there any more test I can do besides breaking down the whole pack and measuring the capacity of each cell?

Depending on the BMS, one hour of balancing may not be enough. Try leaving it like that for several more hours. The BMS should be warm to the touch while balancing.

If I remove the 4 standoffs at the corner of the bms, these pins are the only things holding the layers. Can I bend them to get wires and fish paper in between the stack safely or will it damage the pins? Or is there a good way to desolder them?

I wouldnā€™t bend them, too much chance of breaking a trace somewhere. If it must come apart, Iā€™d recommend cutting them and then desoldering each half, then replacing them when reassembling - either with the same pins, or a pluggable interconnect.

Can I just cut them in the middle and put some solder on after?

Maybe. I personally would not trust those solder joints - not enough surface area.

Where should I buy 18650 30Qs from ? I live in US.

There are some Ebay seller with good reviews. They sell for about $2.9/cell .

Can I trust them?

Noooo, never trust eBay, you can buy batteries from @thisguyhere site

I wouldnā€™t trust Ebay. I get all my cells from ru.nkon.nl. Their shipping isnā€™t the cheapest, but theyā€™re reliable and have good prices - especially if you buy several packsā€™ worth to lower the shipping cost per cell.

Thanks but I need a seller in US
