Whats up people of the Esk8 Forums!

I am new to the the esk8 forums and i have recently purchased an e-board back in December and now i want to start building my first board! hope you guys can help along the way!:fearful: ideal build would be starting off with a mountain board, with a balance between speed and torque if that is even possible  either way i am here to learn.

Brand new to E-Boards. Doing my reading and coming up with a plan soon.

hello. Iā€™m Fulvio. Iā€™m new to E-skating. I just bought a premade eskate. Iā€™m looking for a way to increase the speed of the skate. How to open a topic?

You have to read for at least an hour. Then on your homepage (the page you get to when you load the site) the ā€˜new topicā€™ button should be on the top right.

Mitch here, live in South Dakota. Yes we have computers, electricity and everything. Its amazing! 40+ Old, big (6ā€™4" 230#) guy with wife and 4 kids.

Avid wakesurfer, OneWheel rider, decided to grab a companion esk8 for some longer range. Almost bought an off the shelf metroboard, then saw some trampa videos and changed gears!

Have an Urban Carver sitting in my office awaiting more components. Vertigo trucks, 16 ply deck, dual motor Trampa 136kV on trampa urban mounts. GT2B radio with mod. 7 inch gray pneumatics on white Hypas. Chiboards is building the mother of all batteries for meā€“12s7p 18000mah, and Frank at trampa is hooking me up with speed controlā€“and the second drive train. Originally thought single, now just going for broke (possibly literally $$$ LOL) and doing a dual.

Couple weeks away from having it all set up!

Hiaya, nice looking build you got coming along. I used to spend summers in South Dakota as a kid. My grandpa lived at bear Creek and taught at Dartmouth. Havenā€™t been there in 30 years I guess. Have fun and holler if you need an assist.

Thanks for the shout! I am pumped. I will post it up when done.

South Dakota has changed very little. Stop back through some time. In the summerā€¦

Iā€™m hoping to, always wanted to take my kids up there but always been a little indecisive about showing them the res. Itā€™s kind of a different world, and not really in a good way as I remember. When my son gets a little older I think we will take a road trip in the Jeep. I kinda miss the place :grinning:.

Iā€™ve never built a tramps and Iā€™m just now building an off-road board but Iā€™ve built 5 street boards and building 2 more right now. So if you some I do feel free to tag me. Good luck.

What did something like that run you? Iā€™m looking to do a shortboard build and canā€™t get the price under 750 for a single motor setup.

Am I doing something wrong or is that the price to pay at minimum?

If you use lipos as well as clone wheels and trucks you could build something for below 500$

Well so here is my situation. I am a teacher in a K-6 school and ideally want to do a build with my students. Normally I work on Vintage mopeds with the older grades but this will work well for a younger student and they can legally use it when completed (unlike the mopeds).

Unfortunately I pay out of pocket for all of these projects so the budget is extremely tight. If anyone knows of any educational discounts for any components or donations of parts to schools let me know (we can provide tax refunds). In the end it seems like my cost is going to be around $500.00 regardless of what I do.

It does seem like I may be able to save some cash and improve performance on the $350 budget build by running one of diyesk8ā€™s new hub motors. This will clean up the buildā€¦seemingly perform better and maybe cost me less?

You could save some money by building things yourself like the longboard deck, the motor mount or print the wheel pulley. The problem I see with hubs is that they work with higher voltages which either complicates the build or results in higher costs.

Are there any cad files for mounts? Can I have them lasercut from acrylic?

The res is terrible. The current state of affairs is awful. A couple of the poorest counties in the USA are in SD, out in reservation territory.

Its really a travesty, as many people live in prosperity just a couple hundred miles away.

Yep, thatā€™s how I remember itā€¦a 3rd world country right in the middle of the richest country on earth. sad to say the least. The BIA makes the mob look like an upstanding council of intellectuals.

I donā€™t know a lot about acrylic, aluminum would be better I think, there are definitely some cad files for mounts.

Hello esk8ā€™rs!

My name is Michel and Iā€™m from the netherlands. Iā€™ve had the idea of making an e-sk8 from when my brother and I used to watch Casey Neistatā€™s vlog. My brother started his build in the fall of last year and ever since my little bro is working on his own DIY esk8 Iā€™ve been wanting to build my own. Now I finally completed my part list over the last two weeks and ordered it all I wanted to share my build with this much helping forum. My idea is to make a nice and solid e-sk8 that is kinda future proof. I want to use it to get to work and university, so I need range. Thatā€™s why I chose a VESC from enertion and a big battery of 16000mah. The VESC makes it possible to increase my batterypack in the future if I need to. Furtermore an importand note is that I have a 3D printer, so I am planning to print the enertion hub pulley and the case for electronics. Also im going to desing cases for the ligting system and waterproofing the motor and other electronics the best I can. Ofcourse I will share my ideas and designs on this forum.

Motor: SK3 - 6354 - 260kv

Speed controller: Enertion VESC-X http://www.enertionboards.com/electric-skateboard-parts/vesc-x-programmable-brushless-motor-controller/? Battery: 2x8000mah 3S 30C in series --> 16000mah 6S https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-flightmax-8000mah-3s1p-30c-lipo-pack.html Controller + transmitter: GT2B 2.4Ghz http://www.ebay.com/itm/331917061766 23,-

Extra hardware: Cabels & connectors XT60 etc. Balancing lead 6S > 2x3S splitter http://www.ebay.com/itm/281826763808 LED battery indicator http://www.ebay.com/itm/172143986261 LED Lighting System http://www.ebay.com/itm/331834580569

Pulley system: HTD5M 15T 8mm shaft pulley

HTD5M-375 belt Hub pulley 3D printed

Board: Enertion Koston deck http://www.enertionboards.com/on-sale/koston-warrior-deck/ Enertion Caliber II Trucks normal http://www.enertionboards.com/electric-skateboard-parts/copy-of-enertion-narrow-hanger-truck/ 97mm flywheel + bearing & spacers http://www.ebay.com/itm/162465251753

Those batteries in series (6s) are still 800pmah. To get 16000mah you would have to run them in parralel which would be 3s.

Hello everyone, I own a Boosted (great company/customer service, but rickety construction) and an Evolve GT (solid construction but terrible customer service and faulty electronics). I intend to use the Evolve body, the Boosted controller, some new electronics, and more batteries to make a quality rig. I am entirely new at this, but am a quick study. I would welcome advice from anyone who would like to give it.

Thx for pointing out my stupid mistake  iā€™ll have another look into it. Hopefully I can still change my order.
