German Esk8 Laws

if you figured something out, let us know please how to get it done!

https://vesc-project.com/node/112 Basically what we need. AFAIK, the vesc-tool currently only sees one PPM channel. Still listed as to do here: https://vesc-project.com/node/110

@Ackmaniac. Is this perhaps implemented in your firmware?

Alternative, do the mixing with an arduino in between. You can feed multiple channels into the arduino and for example apply a range mapper type function when a second channel has a certain value. I’m not a big fan of putting additional hardware in between signal and vesc that can fail.

Like I mentioned, a mixer can be setup if your remote can be programmed (opentx type software, etc). These remotes are clunky and big though, g2tb sizes, probably https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-gt5-6ch-2-4ghz-afhds-2a-surface-radio-w-gt5-receiver.html)

Best Solution to change the speed is with the Ackmaniac Firmware with Bluetooth Chip. Power up the Board Police is default Riding settings (6kmh) Change to unlocked Have fun

If you encounter the police switch your Board off which Sets it back to police Mode (default Mode) automatically. Then they can test it as long as they want.

I thought more to go via uart like the firefly remote does for example

ah, ok. Haven’t looked at UART yet. Thanks for pointing that out.

Even for scooters the proposed law is getting more ridiculous: max. 20km/h, drivers license, licence plate and even indicators …

Indicators? Wtf, a bicycle doesn’t have indicators. I ride on average 30 km/h with my race bike.

In a nutshell vote for “Die GRÜNEN”! :stuck_out_tongue:

What does this say? Saw on facebook, so no option to directly translate when on phone…

The traffic change is progressing: Electric micro-vehicles will probably be in 2019 in Germany finally led in a separate vehicle class. The consequences: The traffic is more colorful and on the bike paths it gets narrower. We asked the Ministry of Transport about the cornerstones of the new regulation. An overview.

Yeh got it translated now:

This part seems interesting:

Self-balancing vehicles are allowed up to 1,200 watts

Would also be great if they allowed speeds of up to 35-40kph, with helmet on…

They justified 20kph max speed due to not using helmets, it seems…

Also yes, proper infrastructure is not in place… so legal limit of 40kph might be dangerous for cyclists on cycling roads…

(if it is busy riding, not just one or two riders)

Starting the legalising from now

Edited reason: It’s still a design @telnoi https://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/no-words-just-pictures-delete-words-use-pm/2992/8670?u=pjotr47

Holy crap, never thought this was going to happen.

Just have to figure out what kind of insurance to get. Sounds very similar to how drones are insured these days.

Edit. It’s a design for a law that still needs to be approved. A step in the right direction.

There’s gonna be tons of used hub motor setups on the market when you guys can finally run belts, gear, direct drive setups lol.

That listing makes no sense and I can almost guarantee that this won’t be even close to the final law. 500W+ without handlebar and no license plate?

This is the only thing I can read, it’s a step in the direction of legalising. This is much better then: It’s illegal here

My point is: last time I looked into this matter vehicles without a handlebar and independent brakes would stay illegal (this includes skateboards then). News like the above have been floating around for ages and I can only hope they are true this time but I have doubts.

You know why this news is here? There was a huge groupride with more then 100 people in Germany? It was police escorted
