FOCBOX UNITY | Official

You can se the mounting holes here : https://cdn8.bigcommerce.com/s-zad02/images/stencil/original/products/277/1341/Focbox-unity-dimensions__18812.1534231326.png?c=2

I realize they are on the bottom, but the cooling “fins” are on the top mostly, with connectors which is weird to me… Means if I mount it bottom-to-deck and leave the bottom of the enclosure open, some connectors like the receiver one would be exposed to elements without the silicone cover…

https://youtu.be/BpbBkEPl-Kw?t=288 (14s 57.5V) They have to be safe on the official specs you know…

I am also interested in best practices for mounting a FocBox unity and also with a heat sync thanks

Just throw some industrial strength Velcro on the bottom and on the deck and you should be good to go

Is there any call for mounting the unit on an aluminum sheet and Velcro the sheet to the deck? Is that overkill, good idea? Bad idea?

If you read up through the thread this was covered. @Deodand suggests that in most applications stock cooling will do well and the majority of the heat is expelled from the top

Has anyone pre-ordered this yet? I attempted to pre-order one, but found out I couldn’t because they don’t accept debit cards. If anyone that has pre-ordered one and is willing to sell one to me via PayPal, DM me.

Yeah I pre-ordered with a debit a while ago and it worked fine, I’m sure eneretion will respond soon and help you buy one. Have you contacted enertion support?

I’m pretty certain a few people have ordered :joy:

It’s probably because your bank was being precautious of you trying to order something from Australia. I just had to tell mine that it was in fact me trying to get something from down under.

@onloop and @Deodand , is there an update on when units will begin shipping?

Edit: I just checked my emails and saw the Enertion newsletter.

Here’s a fresh update: https://www.enertionboards.com/pages/enertion-newsletter-volume-7-issue-2/

Haha, I literally just finished reading that when I checked my emails.

maybe silly question, but the support guy at enertion web page told me to ask here : anybody knows the name of this battery port connector at the unity? I also checked the recommended you tube clip from the enertion support - no info either . My Volt meter just came with blank cables. I hope that I get my preordered unity soon and I want to get this connector before. Any specific name or letters for this connector?

Ah, I believe it’s a jst 2 pin 2mm pitch

He actually said the exact opposite about where the majority of the heat comes from.
