First Look at TorqueBoards Direct Drive Motor

:joy:

you guys must have some big cojones! I am shitting my pants at 45kmh and even the 75kv would go much faster. but I am old… :innocent:

If it’s exactly 90kv then the number of pole pairs come out to be 12 or 13. Wow that’s a lot of magnets.

What’s the IR @sofu?

Here’s a meaning less short ride Data. Fyi, battery is a 12s4p sanyo18650RX 8Ah, so it’s not nearly as good as 30Qs. Still max discharge at 20A per cells tho.

Thanks @LEE sorry to hear about your brush with the law hopefully you get away with just a caution and keep your board, be very different story in my country. So your happy with the acceleration, do you find it strong all the way to 60kph, I’m about 55kg, do you recommend the 90kvs? Sorry for picking your brains, I ordered the 90s, and am having that will I won’t I argument with myself given I’m waiting on the second batch.

Which Kv is that?

I have a set of 90kv I’m planning on using with 97mm wheels, just waiting on some connectors to finish my build

90kv advertised. and idk how much poles they have to calculate the exact kv.

Somehow I feel we should have a way to figure that out.

Like maybe if we short out two phases and feel how many “clicks” it makes when you turn it or something.

Maybe someone smarter than me like @Hummie can chime-in

The beta drives were 28 magnets, or 14 pairs. I had to enter 28 into ESC Monitor to get accurate readings. I don’t know the science or explanation behind this, and I never looked to verify but that worked for me after someone suggested I input 28 magnets on the DDs.

Nice, can’t wait to hear how she rides. Please let’s know, always the option to use different radius wheels to level the torque, if ground clearance is good enough. I calculate 110 vs 97 at 88% top speed, not that top speed it really important, and 90 vs 75kv at 83%… Will be interested how you get on mate.

I’m flattered. You guys are really puffing me up today. Maybe u could figure how many poles e a magnet on the outside. Or open it. Anyone open one yet?

What is everyone getting as a top speed with the 90 kv. @LEE was 60kph tippy top? Or was there some more life in there?

Probably I think that 75KV is good considering the total balance. I think 90 KV is a choice for those who want speed. At Raptor 2, 53 km / h, this was the highest speed ever for me. I wanted a board that exceeded this.

I was satisfied for the time being over 60 kph. I think the speed will increase a little more. There was no wobble up to 60 kph. The motor is smooth and fast. And the truck that supports it is good as well. Now, I think that a simple shopping that exceeds 60kph in one shopping is to buy a 90kV torque board direct drive.Or Bio boards.

59kph with 3D Servisas 2.4: 1 mini gear drive and 190KV6374motor and 107mm wheel. This is excellent for hill climbing torque and braking. Everyone will like this if it is practical. Which to choose, practical or leisure?

ill see when i finish my board :sunglasses:

usps wont mother f-in pick up my deck today. my top speed calculated is around 87 km/h unweighted

I do not use 75KV, but I think 75KV is practical. 90KV chooses a use.
