FatBoy Nano Urethane Gear Drive 1:2.6

It’s really difficult to get my hands on this grease here, would it be possible for you to add grease into my order and I pay the difference for it?

UK/EU folks, I found this, £30 delivered.

PM/QM46 Grease cartridge equivalent to Molycote G67 https://www.pressparts.co.uk/Mobile/pm-qm46-grease-cartridge-equivalent-to-molycote-g67-c2x14444008

It’s so crazy, the datasheets for the greases are so different.

G67 is mineral oil based (possibly not good with plastics/rubbers) with adhesion improvers, specified as “extreme pressure”. With properties tested against DIN and ISO standards. Viscosity specified as NLGI#1 (most greases are NLGI#2 which is thicker). It’s very interesting because it’s thin, and very sticky.

The others are plastic compatible synthetic greases (not mineral oil), with properties tested against JIS. The Penetration Density spec might also be a viscosity spec, and the numbers are similar to G67. No adhesion improvers. No claim for “high” or “extreme” pressure.

I’m as confused as ever.

The funny thing is, I think you can run these gears dry. The lube most likely just changes the sound but not so much the wear.

Thanks though @3DServisas for asking the lube specialist. Despite my confusion, it’s very very helpful.

Nice find cause …

for G67 they ask me 187€ (yes plus it’s a code) … I wasn’t ready for that  Almost the price of the drive wo TVA !

I think I will test your or use my WD40 or some fresh mayonnaise  just kidding…

No, I do not advise doing this with WD40

 don’t worry

I will test the Super Lube 400gr for 36€ VS 187€ asking for the G67 … As Markus is using it too on his monsters :v:

Did anyone have any luck finding a source for molykote g-1067?

Hi!

I can see that you also get some grease with the other gear drives you sell, but not the nano. Will it possible to buy the grease separate on the website or as an “add on”/“extra” in the near future?

Yes, there will be option next to nano options

Hey @Kug3lis, any plans on making a FatBoy Pico Gear Drive after this one? With the goal of fitting small wheels like Kegels?

also interested in purchasing grease… seems to be quite diffcult to purchase something like mention above for reasonable price

for the moment I was thinking using lithium EP2 grease…

@rusins you can’t embed motor into the truck, nano has the smallest possible size for 63mm you can’t make it smaller as there are no more space where to put motor. As distance from axles is fixed.

@sebaszz Who ever had bought nano or any other gear drive from us can write email to get some grease from us

But it could be doable with 3 gears though, right? Or would that not have a large enough gear reduction ratio?

How much grease do you get?

This was discussed many times.

@legend27 what you mean?

When you buy the grease from Silmid you get 400g https://www.silmid.com/lubricants/greases/molykote-g67-grease-400gm-cartridge/. How much do I get when buying from you?

There was picture with small containers  Its pretty much enough
