adjustable…you plug in the battery to it… use a multimeter on the output side and turn the little screw/dial until the meter reads the desired output voltage…

doesn’t the screw turn it self from the vibrations while riding?

You are looking for a very cheap electronic piece called a “buck converter.” They can be found on ebay for around $3 but take like a month to get to you. There’s a small screw (potentiometer) that can be dialed to give you the correct output voltage. Good luck!

Check out reviews looks like hit or miss but mostly miss so a bit of a gamble there, people saying caps blew up, not sure if the caps were installed backwards or just bad caps? hard to say but just letting you know small gamble there, let us know if you order and it works out.

Still running mine off the 1S battery but it would be nice to grab one of these higher voltage buck converters and not have to charge another thing.

Hi! Still not done that for myself  I’m going to finish my new build in few monthes, and want to use this lighting there.(I sold my previous board to my friend before I was able to put lighting on it)

Can’t the CREE XMLs handle 3a though? Or is this not running them to full potential?

Which exact lamps are in your torches, T6 XM-L2?

Cheers

Probably knockoff but they work quite nicely - with around 1-1.4A output. Convoy flashlight Store on Aliexpress I think sells authentic Cree stuff

On my last build I used those round SMD LEDs with little legs hanging around, tho only managed to use 4x~700mA @ 3.8V which was roughly 10W? with lens they were quite good for the speed of the board, and quite blinding when coming right towards you

The light modules. The sank their heat to trucks via truck bolts. Around 7mm in thickness image

[Question] On my new build, I plan on adding a high power Cree XHP50.2 and one of those XMLs (1.4A @ 4.2V). The first with 10-degree lens and second one 45-degree one. Maybe I’ll do them double. But due to low placement of lights, I’m thinking of adding the helmet a another XHP with 10-degree lens.

I could add board lights’ angle adjustment remote mechanism with +/- 25 dergees, altho I think it would be totally pointless on a board? Better to have remote lights’ control for the pulsewidth, or just have one light permanently on 10% mode and then a high light which you turn off/on depending how it would obstruct oncomers?

Cheers for the info  U sure about ceased production though? The L2-T6’s are in CREE’s 2018 catalog…

Oh Okay, maybe I’m mistaken or misinformed - read that from Reddit’s flashlight forum, dunno
