eLofty: Updated! Builder's Price Book: Lofty Direct Drive (Shenzhen Lofty Ambition Technology)

What if they are simply mistaken about the correct kv rating?

well ask them to spin the motor and calculate the Kv. Although others having the drive already report speeds compatible with 60Kv.

I just haven’t seen anyone mention that they get only 18mph on 10s yet?

Maybe you have to check the main thread. I think people report like 40kmh on 10s. Like @BillGordon @DAddYE @mishrasubhransu have them already I believe. I just do not want you to be disappointed on the speed. Kv and speed as you know are really connected. maybe with 12s and 110mm wheels will get up some decent speed. @Winfly could give it a try with a charged battery.

On mine the motor efficiency I find predicting better the real speed is between 90-95%. If that is the case for this DD too, then with the setup just mentioned you should get around 45-46kmh, not bad.

I already have fast boards. I’m sure I will find a use for them  appreciate the input for sure

I am really confused now. I am supposed to having the 58kv version, bought them before the group buy started. I just gave them a spin on the bench and the Metr. gave me those readings.Screenshot_2019-05-15-20-28-03 Screenshot_2019-05-15-20-28-25\

It’s not 100% in line with what the calculator says but close.
I do hit easily 40km/h with them on 10S battery but thought maybe the 18 pole count is incorrect. Screenshot_2019-05-15-20-48-30

Edit* I must have the 75kv version and the calculator is used with 75kv, 90% efficiency.

i guess you have the 75Kv. Before the GB they also sold some 75kv version as @hiboute mentioned before. Those are in line with what I get with mine 75kv hubs.

They where sold as 58kv.

Nice love the wheels!

Hoping these are the ones I get somehow too I guess :joy::sweat_smile:

I have them for a while. And been wanting to use them on my 5 years old bustin ibach 37, my first ever longboard that I took a spill downhill and never touched again. Going with dual 5055 280kv turning motors that I bought 4 years ago when they were the shit. Kinda regret quiting before finishing a build 4 years ago. And now I’m just a filthy pineapple picker.

I think you definitely got the 75Kv. Same values I get so… I think that if you stay with < 110mm wheels 75kv is better. For AT the lower the better.

AS I always say the low ride builds are what give me the best feelings. I really like the overall shape and build. If you then like it a lot you can always get lower Kv motors in future. Maybe the spiral gears you are trying now!

Nah I’m going 12:36 for the torque. And mostly gonna be sliding with these wheels.

Yes, even with the 100mm Boas they get warmer then the 60kv hubs I used. 110mm wheels with this drives would be too big for me. With the 110mm wheels Torqueboards Direct Drives are the best match I guess.

Kv is the same so then it comes down to stator size and battery. the more you can provide and the motor takes the more power output.

Well, my order is in for the “58kv” drive. It will be a good science experiment to see what I get  so far I haven’t really seen anyone with the 58kv version. The ones that were supposed to have it seem to have 75kv specs.

the ones i mentioned before should have the around 60Kv version I believe.
