OMG MBS. I’ve got a deck+enclosure from LaCroix from the GB, sitting on a shelf waiting for something like this to happen…

What blasphemy is this? “deck+enclosure from LaCroix from the GB, sitting on a shelf” Build that bad boy

Yeah I know, terrible, but I was really trying to stay out of the mtb space, have enough builds going with the skate stuff! The LaCroix stuff was too attractive and too good a price. My excuses of MBS stuff not being availabl are starting to dry up!

At this point, selling just the gears would be a really nice option for some of us. That is the only thing I personally can’t manufacture.

Is this something you would consider?

Thanks Jo, das geht runter wie Öl (-;

Yeah we will consider, why not (-;

I addet Parts to the webshop, i tryed to split Parts in different Kits. Like a more Budget Entry Kit with straight gears, upgradable

Also the option to save money with not anadozised Parts

Please help a noob get learned. Give me a starting point. This will be for urban use, with maybe some flirtation with off-road.

Leaving out the electronicals, does below shopping list make sense?

Is there anything that’s horribly wrong, suboptimal, or missing? Like is there a big step up in motors, or do I have the KV crazily wrong?

Thanks guys in advance.

1 of these

https://www.lacroixboards.com/product-page/board-carbon-fiber-enclosure-prototipo

1 of these, Orange, 8mm bore (8mm is the motor shaft?)

2 of these (like sk3 6374, with 8mm shaft)

https://buildkitboards.com/collections/motors/products/6374-190kv-motor

2 of these:

4 of these (so cheap lol, everything else is shockingly expensive)

https://www.mbs.com/parts/13235-mbs-rockstar-ii-hub-orange-1

5 of these (city riding. 1 spare)

6 of these (2 spare)

1 of these

https://www.mbs.com/parts/13020-12mm-x-28mm-bearings-8

assorted shock blocks

Perhaps Truck Extension for the front? Is that just for looks/symmetry?

And a box of

Electronics will be dual Escape with something like 12s6p pack I think. Mount the escs outside on top of the trucks if I have to.

Clicking through your website, I feel like I’m looking at a proper German S&M toy store.

Hey Dude, your shopping list looks good IMO Motor looks great, 6384, sealed, sensored, 8mm Shaft, cool i like it. with the 1:5 gearing it will be have a calculated topspeed of around 60kmh thats fast (-; but i have several similar setups in the past, will work!

Yes, correct, 8mm is the Motorshaft size!

Excact if you want to have the front the same width you need them.

:joy::joy::joy: YEAAAAAH

Sounds good too!

:rofl: made my Day :kissing_heart:

Awesome!

Just have to wait for my original 5:1 E-TOXX gear drive to show signs of wear, but it’s going strong.

P.S.perhaps offer AS504 modules? It would appear that these require some modifications that many are most likely not comfortable with? There is talk of removing filters/resistors when using the development board (preventing cross-talk, etc.).

Yeah maybe you have to wait a bit longer (-; normaly they hold up long :sunglasses:

Yeah we will, its just nicer for average customer not to mess up with the required modification of the AS5047 Development Board. Its no rocketscience but for unexpierenced builders maybe better to get the Encoder ready to go.

Cheers

Another question to this topic: would you tell us the supplier for the helical gears you use. I cannot find them in mädlers cataloge. im intetested to use them on ebike projects im planning

Greets notger

Hey

They are custom made, you dont get them ready to buy

Cheers

@Nowind what’s the purpose of the metal inlay? if I understood correctly you are not using a rubber seal between the housing and gear, is that right?

I ask because I’m finishing the design of my drive train and will use a rubber seal mounted on a 3D printed housing that will make contact with a metal space that is attached directly to the gear

1 Like

@Pedrodemio No we use a rubber seal to keep dirt out. The metal inlay is the contact area where the rubber seal sits on the 3D Housing Cheers

what seal do you use? v-rings? do they make contact with the pom gear, or is there metal can between gear and seal? had once a pom gear partly melted because of the friction with a v-ring:/

Yap V-Rings, hehe yeah thats why the run on the metal inlay the friction caused heat will melt all plastics in short time

1 Like

Thanks, so you use an outer seal? The seal rotates with the gear?

Yes and Yes (-; Cheers
