E-Board Motor Covers

Does anyone thought about high density stainless steel mesh cover? Let’s say like mesh 40 or even 100. Motor itself is waterproof so our only concern is to keep dirt and rocks away from the motor, stainless mesh shouldn’t affect airflow so much, heat radiation should be almost the same. You could simply take the cover and wash it. Isn’t that better idea than solid abs or even carbon cover ?

To check this idea we need to bend the wire, cutout mesh with scissors and hotglue it i think. I’m right now in the middle of building my esk8 but for sure i will make one for myself.

sounds like a good plan! Post pics, let us know know how it goes

I was looking into this for incase I roll over a puddle. Would that not effect the bare motor?

brushless motors are naturally water resistant.

Oh, ok. Thanks. I guess I was worried about nothing

exactly

as many motors I have seen all of them have hall sensor PCB plain without any protection, I will be going to apply a coating on mine for sure to make 100% water resistant.

obviously you can’t drop it in your brothers fish tank, but a puddle every now and then will be just fine

kind off… PCB can corrode and etc

that’s why you can’t drop it in your brothers fish tank…

So I can drop it in my own right? :joy_cat:

of course you can!
