DAVEga: Battery monitor, odometer, speedometer

@janpom i also tried that aswell with no luck ill try anything you put to me no problem thankyou for your help could it be that i am using a mini arduino and not your circuit ?

No, that’s definitely not it. My circuit is basically a barebone Arduino as well. I suppose it’s just that my latest FW update doesn’t really fix things for VESC FW 3.48. I hope to find some time for it tonight. Thanks for the feedback.

@Wainecaplin @Bbaldrickk I have some good news, which however may actually be bad news for you. I just installed the 3.48 on my ESCapes and my Dave with the v0.5 that’s permanently connected immediately stopped working (as expected). Then, however, I connected my other Dave with the FW from the 64b_limit branch and that one just worked. So I’m afraid the problem must be something at your end.

Make sure your TX/RX wires are correctly connected and that you have your VESCs correctly configured. Fingers crossed. May you see the green square soon.

I’ll soon release DAVEga v0.6, which will be VESC 3.48 compliant (while retaining compatibility with older VESC FWs).

Hi, sorry, I got your message but haven’t had time to respond yet. This is weird since I have tested all boards before shipping. Did the package look like it might have got some beating?

Have you tested if you can update the FW? If not, please try that first. If that works, it’s probably a bad display. If it doesn’t work, the board is probably broken and it’s not worth debugging. I can just send you another one.

Wow, that’s neat! Would you share the stl files with us?

No the package was fine. I’ve ordered 3 display (one was broken), they all display white.

I did try to upload the firmware but still have the issue.

Just to be clear: The FW upload was successful?

Tryied again, i have this error now

Did you install the driver? Did you select the right com port/board? Did you solder/buy the parts yourself?

When you tried installing the FW before, did it work without this error? Please double-check your Arduino IDE settings are correct as @Mich21050 suggests. https://github.com/janpom/davega#configuring-and-installing-firmware

If you can’t get the FW updated, that’s likely a bad board. I believe you have the DIY kit as well, right? Do you think you could try assembling that one and see if you can get it working? That way we would rule out there’s a problem in the display or in the Arduino IDE setup.

Have tried uploading the sketch, but am getting the error

‘avrdude: ser_open(): can’t open device “\.\COM9”: Access is denied.’

Any idea?

Are you sure you selected the right com port? Did you install the driver which is mentioned on @janpom 's github? You could try running Arduino Ide with administrative privileges…
