All new 2019 VESC-Tool release

Both ESCs have latest firmware, same problem. Wondering if one of my ESC CAN-bus is broken at this point

Try switching them master>slave, slave>master

I see the greenbar at the bottom of the screen. When I do motor set up the non connected VESC motor moves only. When I goto app it says VESC doesnt have the correct firmware. Bought a focbox unity…

The Unity is not compatible with the VESC tool. You need to use the unity tool.

Someone was saying that there are Chinese Esc running vesc Benjamin firmware… What vescs are these? I’m working in China I bought some vescs 4.12 really cheap here but that’s the original vesc just built here. What kind of hardware from China are you guys talking about?

Please update to the latest 1.07 VESC-Tool. For some motors the 1.06 version could create some cogging, due to the Temperature Compensation feature. The new 1.07 uses a different algorithm to calculate the motor parameters and has Temperature Compensation switched off.

Unity is technically a more simple device, that is limited to the use of a modified VESC-Tool derivate. Since it has no dedicated processors for each ESC, but shares one processor amongst two ESCs, VESC-Tool will not be able to configure the Unity. You will need to wait until Enertion finds the time to integrate the latest software features into their VESC-Tool derivate. Unity is a bit like a computer that can only run a certain Linux distribution.
Don’t try to use VESC-Tool to configure the Unity. Hardware damages might occur!

I guess this explain what happened to me the other day… #bindingssavedmefromfalling

Never mind the amps. Look at that consumption figure.

I had something similar the other day which doesn’t make sense either. I didn’t feel anything wrong though. I was just cruising along normally.

You are either just standing still on a slope or you have enabled GPS in location setting.

Tja! “Just cruising along normally”… Batt current 106 amps, motor current almost 200amps… just chill  relaxed D:

Yeah just cruising.

I’m surprised it reads that high battery current. In fact that’s impossible since my motor amp is set to 80 and battery amp to 50. I think I know why it reads like that because I remember now when I got home the app was also reading 4 esc connected.

This is my speed run and I didn’t reach that high.

And no way am I trying the latest tool and firmware. I’ve learnt my lesson and will no longer be a crash test dummy.

Hey everyone. Just wondering if I can use this app with a FOCBOX which has this Bluetooth module connected:

Cheers! App looks great!

No, that is a slow HM 10 module. You need a fast NRF 51 based module. Ideally you get the VESC-Connect dongle, which we future proofed. There is a link in the App description.

Cheers boss I’ll get one ordered!

What I’m trying to show is the sudden amp drop - from 60amp - 30amp while I was accelerating. I think that is what @trampa described as motor cogging, for sure without bindings i would falll

In FW 1.06 its basically temperature compensation that can cause the resistance value to be set to high. This causes a cogging when you push the trigger hard. Nothing that would throw you off, just a shaking. FW 1.07 sorted that.

Just like the VESC can’t use the unity tool right?

Doesn’t always have to be marketing with you?

Considering the value of your comment, better keep it for you. Just my 2 cents
