100 mile range (The Big Boy Toy Project)

True but it is also a fraction of the fun

I have the same damned problem. I have almost no idea what kind of range i could get if i wasn’t hauling ass all over.

Im in ABQ about once a month for work. I wish I had an easy way bring my board

turn it on and tow it behind your car. By the time you get there, given your pack size… it MIGHT be fully charged.

Only 2 hours north for me. Send me a PM next time you are there and I’ll see if we can make it up there with an extra deck.

Cool, I have a rental car when Im out there, I could cruise down your way.

Would be great to run laps around town with someone before hitting the local brewery. Speed limit around here stops at 35 mph so it is way less stressful than riding in the city. I’m also game for running up to ABQ so let me know!

It’s so funny, I constantly think about 100 km how far that is, but it actually is 160 ish KM! my board “only” goes 14 km, 8 miles, which is more than enough for me down here in Holland!

Awesome ride Bro, did the stooge get his hands on it? Are they CBR steering dampers front and back?

I wish he had, then I might have been able to break 40 without the wobbles.

Actullly what you see there are adjustable angle baseplates that I milled to work with the hanger on my V3’s.

Made your own baseplates? Awesome dude, what angles did you go with?

I was also wondering about those baseplates. I was zooming in and trying to figure out what trucks those were, cause they didn’t look like stock Carvon bits and I couldn’t understand how they were working with those deck angles. More pics and details, please!

The one that didnt wheel bite or feel too wobbly lol. I didnt bother measuring. The baseplate is adustable but if I lower the angle too much the wheels bite during hard turning onto the battery enclousure, too much angle and the board gets squirmy and too high off the ground. Final effective angle is about 60ish degrees so the hanger is adjusted to over 100 degrees when u factor in the angle of the deck.

@Mobutusan

Surfrods adjustable baseplates arent compatible with standard skate hangers since their BP has a shorter pivot cup hole to kingpin distance. I needed to cut the baseplate back and increase the depth of the piviot cup hole about 15mm to make it work.

You are going crazy here man. 2300wh! How in the hell are you going to ride 100 mile in one, my legs get sore after 20 haha. Will be following this thread!

if he does that it will be considered an electric scooter

ok guys, power and gearing question for you to argue about…What’s the number of teeth I want to use here?

currently on 36v batt, 125kv 2000w motor 15 tooth motor pulley 36 tooth wheel pulley 90mm Flywheels

I wish to run 107mm flywheels and get the same performance I have with the 90mm’s

My current setup (50 miles)

What I am thinking of doing (increasing wheel size to 107mm and wheel pulley to 40 tooth)

Do you think I may want to add some overall watts to the motor for more HP to overcome the size the rolling weight? Is the gearing change enough?

you could try the 195kv aerodrive SK3 motors

The rolling weight is minor just getting it moving will be the hard part on a single. Couple kicks and you’ll be fine

I think you’ll find the gear change to be sufficient.
