The 18650 batteries made by Panasonic for Telsa are rumoured to be different than their commercial 18650 batteries. Apparently the Tesla batteries have a longer life.
Anyway, Aries RC took on of those cells and pulled it apart. Here’s the video:

well I gotta admit I was expecting to find magic smoke and fire inside.

Lightning…that’s what inside 
I was surprised it was dry inside. I was explecting fluid, or perhaps something gelatinous but it was completely dry. It’s pretty amazing how they work. Technology, is just like magic!
