Sorry bud. ABS is stronger and more flexible.
ABS has a tensile strength of 5,000 - 7,500psi. Glass nylon has a tensile strength of 24,000 - 36,000 psi. Itâs definitely not stronger.
The only reason boostedâs enclosures donât fall to pieces is they are small and are at either end of the deck. Wouldnât last laid out the length of a deck like a single piece abs enclosure has proven to do. Tensile strength is great on paper though smart guy.
Iâm not going to argue with you, weâll just go around in circles, regardless this thread isnât the place for it.
That new enclosure is sick! Will that start coming with the space cells?
Looking at the final board, I wish I had ordered two. Will the adjustable angle front trucks be available?
feel free to order another one, they are only going to get more expensive.
How about the trucks?
For now we will focus on building & delivering the Raptor 2 - Later on in 2017 we will focus on various mods & upgrades. Adjustable trucks, Different Deck shape, All terrain wheel kit.
Looks nice and sleek. Well done.
Someone claims the Raptor 2 is the most powerfull Direct Drive Board, yeah whatever⌠I tried to figure out what that means and if that is true, so I did some nerdy stuff.
The Ghost-Motors are 1150 max watt each I think?
So you can calculate the Force the Board is putting to the street like this: âRPMâ => âMax Motor Powerâ => âMotor Torqueâ => â25% loss to Heatâ => âGearingâ => âWheel RPM/Torqueâ => âWheel Diameterâ => âForceâ For the Raptor 2 this about 194 N (Newton), is that good?
In the second step I tried to calculated what is the max incline a 100kg guy can keep itâs speed (no acceleration) running uphill full power (the motor runs on max watt output) With no loss to friction, itâs about 19% incline.
This calculation is far away from beeing exact, but you can compare it to the other boards out there to proof the claim.
Direct-Drive-Boards: (based on marketing specs)
194 N (19%) Raptor 2
167 N (16%) Carvon EVO4
153 N (15%) Mellow
134 N (13%) Inboard
121 N (12%) Stary
117 N (11%) Acton QU4TRO
111 N (11%) Carvon EVO
80 N (8%) Genesis
41 N (4%) Blink Lite
This looks good for the Raptor on paper, lets see if it can perform in real live, canât wait to see a video of Jason doing a hill test Acton is pretty weak with their 4 motors, but this is mostly to their big wheels and 400W motors or I did something wrong
Belt-Systems: (based on marketing specs)
288 N (28%) Raptor Dual
268 N (26%) Ollin Freeride
243 N (24%) Metroboard Dual
192 N (19%) Raptor Mono
191 N (18%) Evolve GT
144 N (14%) Boosted Dual+
84 N (8%) Zboard 2
53 N (5%) Evolve Gen2
53 N (5%) E-Go
P.S. my Board (Dual-R-Spec and 15:48 gearing) is at 324 N
For calculation I used this tool, I wrote lately. It has a few issues but you can see how eboard physics works
Hi, there is already a video of Jason riding a prototype Raptor 2 uphill with 116-120 kg (Jason with two 8kg weights in a backpack) Looks promising.
Wow nice write up. Torn between this and the S2
@onloop so on some of these pics, the wheel lettering is on the urathane wheel⌠on other pics the lettering is on the plastic retainer disc⌠so where is it? do you have any actual, non-cgi, non Photoshoped pictures?
As in Acton s2? There is no comparison in specs. This is more in the performance and price range of Actions Quattro. I would still chose this
The part is CNCâD made from aluminium alloy billet.
We where thinking about using a lazer etching method for printing the text onto the anodized retainer plate⌠But it doesnât look as good as when we print onto the outwheel edge directly.
So the final version will match the text from wheels
Can you loose the risers or will you suffer wheelbite?
