OllinBoardCo OM5065-200kv Sensored Motor

Who has ever gotten rocks in a motor though

I havenā€™t seen that one beforeā€¦ Usually motors are spinning way too fast for anything to go into the motor.

Cool video thoughā€¦ Looks like fun!

Doesnā€™t hurt to make it even more protected though. Nicely done.

Thatā€™s how @chaka makes his shaved ice in the summer :sunny:

Awesome. When is the 63mm going into production? Are they any plans for a bigger motor based around this design?

Now that I think about it, I think these are the same motors in my benchwheel board

those new evolve motors looks similar to torqueboards 5065 that iā€™m using now . naaah . my torqueboards dual diagonal suits me better . just i dont have proper camera to capture proper videos .

They are both black so I guess it checks out? :grinning:

@torqueboards not everyone rides in clean manicured cities. Every other motor I have tried ends up with shredded windings in less than 100 miles. This includes your little 230kv popper. Admittedly, I ride on asphalt and at 30+ mph the motor is constantly being peppered with rocks and sand.

There has been a lot of speculation that these are the same motors that are on the new evolve that is coming out. They are not, these are larger more powerful motors and are suitable for a single drive budget build or a dual diagonal beast.

@makepeace Right now we are focused on developing the 50mm motors but we will bring a similar 63mm to market once we push our racing mounts into production. The 63mm motors are too powerful for the thin mounts available now. I have bent or broken every mount I have tried when pushing 63mm motors to there operational limits. They are also out of balance when it comes to the VESC and it can be difficult finding the right settings to keep the vesc from overheating on hills when using large motors. This will all change with the V5 VESC.

@chaka Is the V5 VESC the two piece model?

Yes but it may be awhile before Vedder releases it. He has a lot of projects going on right now.

Iā€™m in the process of building my first esk8. Before i stumbled upon this i was going to go for one sk3 245kv motor. This motor seems to do the trick though. Hell the SK3 isnt even in stock. Are you going to include pullys and timing belts with the motor? And there are sensors on the motor? Iā€™m planning to use a VESC from DIYā€™s. Iā€™m new so if i dont make much senseā€¦thatā€™s why.

My new axle set mounts are going to fit randal, randal 195 clones as well as paris 195ā€™s. They are already being boxed up at the machine shop! Theyā€™ll make the dual rear reality.

Now you come out with Randal mountsā€¦lol

But can they fit 50mm motors? If not it is alright, my mounts are almost ready to send out for fabrication.

This is the motor only, Iā€™ll have a compatible mount and drive pulleys in about a month. Until then you can source a compatible mount/drive from @psychotiller, Alien, Enertion, or a DIY V3 mount.

Yup! 50mm mount plates are being made too

It was by accident after I gave up on it.

lol No worries. I think my yin yang setup looks cool and itā€™ll work just fine.

I wonder if you can mount them normally on regular caliber trucks. My benchwheel has a 180mm hanger and fits two 5065ā€™s with room to spareā€¦ I donā€™t have my DIY parts yet so I canā€™t compare to a regular caliber II truck. Iā€™m hoping I can repurpose the truck and mounts for my DIY build.

Power wise how would this compare to something like a SK3 6374?

Got any videos of it going along?

So what type of bearing setup are we talking about here? Is it supported like the SK3?
