If you ordered a FocBox from me, I have some news

Well… he is “Psyco” after all. What’d you expect?

There’s a dead easy trick to putting the 5.5mm bullets on there if you’re interested.

I’m good  https://esk8content.nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com/uploads/db2454/original/3X/6/d/6dd219622bc6e4dabf93bd1be71b64f38b68ccee.jpg

Ill bite, do tell. Seems as simple as cutting and soldering on new bullets?

Ot maybe that was a rhetorical post, lol.

its even easier than that. it literally takes 5 minutes to do all three.

  • remove heat shrink from 3mm bullet with razor
  • flux the outside of the 3mm bullet
  • flux the inside of the wire end of the 5.5mm bullet
  • tin the inside of the 5.5mm bullet with enough solder to coat but not fill or run out the hole on the side
  • put the iron tip through the hole on the side to keep the bullet warm
  • slip the 3mm bullet into the 5mm bullet while the iron is still in there keeping it warm
  • remove the iron and push the 3mmm bullet all the way in
  • heat shrink the new connector with 7mm shrink tube.

works a treat. 5 minutes or less with a little practice, which is why i only charge $10 for the upgrade. The bullets nearly cost that much if you only buy three.

also it helps a great deal if you have one of those dr octopus looking helping hands things from Amazon.

I only use the adapter while in warranty, otherwise just replace

Does that void the warranty? Is the warranty voided if it’s replaced the traditional way?

Doesn’t void MY warranty. Also replacing the bullets has zero to do with PCB related failures, so not honoring an ESC warranty because of a connector change would be lame sauce and fly in the face of everything the DIY community is about. Not to mention it would be exploitative and essentially evil.

But you know that’s been done…

You know Entertion warranty doesn’t allow changing bullets or xt60… Which is dumb imo but they somehow get away with it lol

Actually there has been a whole lot of people swapping out bullets and frying they’re focbox because they never heat shrink them after wards.

Got a link to those handy little adapters?

That’s why the first thing I do is put lotion all over the PCB, so the fets don’t dry out. You don’t want them to get all dry and cracked and let the magic smoke out.

You have to use the right kind of lotion, it has to be coconut-oil lotion. Regular lotion won’t work.

Just solder 2 of those bullets together and boom, no dead warranty
