Welcome to the club. Share your experience with us when you have the chance.

That means I need to buy a bunch of extra stuff🙂

I had removed the Fets, 4 were dead. Lee, is it safe to use this one to replace them ? https://www.mouser.fr/ProductDetail/Infineon-Technologies/IRF1404ZPBF?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvsw8vHdI9FuhpThzldVXnF

You better call him. He does not read the forum everyday. @aulakiria

irf1404z is somewhat less powerful than irf1404. There is irf1404 on the site you previously informed.

nice star trek reference

Arnold never did Star Trek, pretty sure that’s Terminator movies. … or I missed something.

Yes it is terminator. But I did many star trek memes on this thread. I guess matthias talks about another post.

Lipo or liion works for the soldering iron if u just make a plug adapter?

Spaceballs I loved that one

Better use lipos for the high discharge required. 5A at 30C 3S battery I think was suggested. Edit: didn’t read way you said about solder iron. I wad talking for spot welding. So… what rojitor says

Yes. I do it sometimes. Just be careful with the voltage of the lipo. Or use a buzzer. https://youtu.be/73xb6SiqcRs You can solder more or Less for half an hour with a 5000 mah lipo. Be careful anyway.

Good to know. Could always just leave the little cell voltage checker attached if you plan on soldering a while.

Good desoldering.^^ I hope you to soldering new IRF1404 well.:grinning:

Just did a test run today and “pop” FET error.

Are you able to give run down of what it took to replace the FETS @Toleg ?

What were your settings at and battery type and what were you welding

A quick search of Mouser (au store) showing that these are obsolete, any equivalent one that can be used? AUIRF1404 IRF1404PBF

3S 4ms weld time. Nickel to nickel test weld (was on auto with delay of 1.5sec)
